Taking your Dog's measurements is the most important part of ordering custom wearables from NO NUDE HOUNDS. Sometimes it can be difficult to get the dogs to be still during this process. It's always best if they are standing up. Please don't add or subtract anything from your original measurements. And, if She/He acts up, just remind them that soon they'll be the sharpest Hound or Un-Hound in the neighborhood :)
Hold the end of the tape measuring tape 1" above your Dog's shoulder blades (whithers) and measure down to the base of the tail, where the butt ends and the tail begins.
Hold the tape measuring tape on the spine over the widest part of Dog's chest, behind the armpits. continue holding tape as you wrap it around the widest part and bring the tape up to meet the end of the tape on the spine. The CIRCUMFERENCE.
Hold the tape measure ON the sternum (breastbone,) the prominent bone in the area of the front legs, and measure AROUND THE OUTSIDE the SHOULDER to the armpit.
Hold the tape on the Sternum and measure down to the end of the ribcage. Think of the underside of a boat, just stop at the end of the rib cage, don't go all the way to the transome!! 😻
Hold the measuring tape on the spine at the deepest part of the TUCK, wrap around the body and bring the measuring tape back up to meet at the spine. CIRCUMFERENCE.
Hold the tape on the spine directly in front of the hind legs, wrap around the body and bring the measuring tape back up to meet at the spine. CIRCUMFERENCE.
Hold the tape at the point (or close to) where the neck meets the shoulder and wrap around the neck to meet at the beginning of the tape. CIRCUMFERENCE.
Hold the tape on the neck as though you were measuring for a collar, but DO NOT add the usual '2 fingers depth' to the measurement.
Hold the tape at the point where you took the back measurement ("A") band measure out to just behind the eyes. This measurement is only for the snoods on the coats.
Put your Hound's harness on. Put your tape measure on the exact same place you took the back "A" measurement and measure down to the MIDDLE of the 'D ring.' Then determine in which direction the 'D ring' moves: shoulder-to-shoulder, or head-to-tail. If you choose this option (there is no charge for a harness opening) you will enter your information @ check out.
